The Carer Advisor is focused on assessing and responding to the diverse needs of carers, including the provision of information, support, advocacy and referral.

Carers Victoria is looking for appropriately qualified and/or experienced staff   who  are interested in working on our state-wide 1800 Carer Advisory line and Better Start for Children with Disability Registration and Information Service.

You will be an experienced practitioner with excellent assessment skills who enjoys working predominantly with clients over the telephone.

As part of a dynamic team, you will provide administrative support to the Better Start for Children with Disability Registration and Information Services, and to the Carer Advisory Service, with a particular focus on being the central point of contact for the registration of children into the Better Start program. Key tasks include receiving and processing referrals, communicating with families to arrange appointments and supporting promotional events.

As the Carer & Community Education Officer you will have a desire and passion to add value to the community.  The primary functions of this role are
• Development of information, materials and activities to build sustained relationships and collaborations
• Increase business opportunities to build capacity for caring families
• Design, deliver, assess and evaluate face to face and online information, materials and education programs for carers and service providers
• Design, deliver, assess, and evaluate information materials and e-learning education programs for carers and service providers for on line use.

Carers Victoria is a reputable community based organisation that is passionate about leading change and action.  We are the state-wide voice for caring families, representing and providing support to carers in the community.
